Dr. Matthew Vogt

Chiropractor, Parramatta & Kogarah

Dr Matthew is a Chiropractor in Parramatta and Kogarah who completed his Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University and has been working in clinical practice since 2003, beginning his career as a massage therapist while completing his university studies. This early hands-on experience helped shape his practical, patient-centred approach to musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation. After graduating, he worked across a number of chiropractic clinics before joining Back to Basics Chiropractic in 2009, where he has continued to build a strong reputation for thorough, personalised care. With more than 20 years of combined clinical experience, Dr Matthew has treated a wide range of patients, from acute injuries and chronic spinal conditions to pregnancy-related and lifestyle-related complaints. He is a member of the Chiropractic Association (CA) and has completed additional training in Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), rehabilitation strategies, and pregnancy-related care.

Dr Matthew’s treatment approach combines hands-on chiropractic adjustments with rehabilitation, mobility work, stretching, and practical lifestyle advice to help patients not only recover from pain but also improve long-term movement, function, and resilience. He has a particular interest in acute injury management, spinal and postural conditions, sports-related complaints, and preventative wellness care. His goal is to identify the underlying drivers of pain and dysfunction while empowering patients with strategies to support lasting results.

Having personally experienced significant spinal injury at a young age after suffering a bulging disc while swimming, Dr Matthew understands firsthand the physical and emotional impact that pain can have on daily life. Experiencing symptoms such as leg weakness, numbness, sleep disturbance, and persistent discomfort gave him an early appreciation for the importance of effective, compassionate healthcare. This personal experience allows him to genuinely empathise with patients dealing with both acute injuries and chronic conditions.

Outside the clinic, Dr Matthew believes strongly in maintaining balance through healthy lifestyle habits, exercise, recovery, and family life. Since becoming a father himself, he has developed an even deeper appreciation for the importance of practical, sustainable healthcare approaches for busy individuals and families. He enjoys strength training, reading, and staying active, and brings this same philosophy of long-term health and well-being into the care he provides for his patients.
